Tour to Art Museum
Art Museum of Transcarpathia was organized in 1948 and its collection is aout 4500 pieces of art, graphics, sculpture and applied arts pieces. During half a century museum collection was widened with exhibits from private collections as well as from museums of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa and Lvov. The museum is located in a magnificent bulding of former city hall, pattern of classical art. Among these works are masterpieces of T. Shevchenko, I. Shishkin, I. Ajvazovsky and many other famous artists.
The department of Western European art is represented with art works of Italian, Dutch, French, German, Austrian artists from different schools and courses of17-20 centuries. Among them are works of Francheko Albani, Kornelius-Peters Bega and Philip Voyverman, Yakopo Palma Junior, Lemberto Lombardo, Abragdma Van Dembl, Samuel Van Googstrassen and some unknown portraitists of 17 century.
